Client Background
- Our client for this project is a subsidiary manufacturing facility of a large multinational corporation.
- As a newly established manufacturing site, their goals include enhancing efficiency, boosting productivity, streamlining processes and reducing overhead costs.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project was commissioned with the clear objective of redesigning the layout of an existing jar filling, capping and labeling conveyor line. The aim was to maximize space utilization, improve workflow, and facilitate machinery relocation to a new premise. By consolidating operations, the project aimed to enhance efficiency, productivity and reduce overhead costs.
SOLUTION
The initial phases of the project involved our Design Engineers working closely with the customer to identify constraints and considerations to ensure that the new layout would meet end user requirements.
Taking into account all design considerations, our Design Engineers produced multiple 2D and 3D layout options for the customer to consider. Utilizing the latest technology this interactive process enabled the end user to identify potential productivity improvements or operational issues, ensuring optimized productivity and workflow efficiency.
In addition to an optimized layout, our Jarlam Engineers were also tasked with producing a frame design to support a weigh head that assisted with operational efficiency. The design team had to consider space, height restrictions and undertake weight calculations to ensure the structural integrity of the frame.
Once the layout and frame design were finalized, our engineers transferred the fabrication and layout drawings to our workshop and site installation teams for implementation. Our dedicated workshop fabricators then proceeded to fabricate the frame in a manner that adhered to stringent hygiene standards suitable for food production facilities.
Our dedicated site installation teams took charge of the equipment installation and machinery relocation to bring the newly designed layout to fruition. Additionally, we collaborated with the customer to complete modifications to existing stainless steel conveyors on site. Leveraging their extensive experience, our teams employed high-quality installation practices to ensure that both the new layout and frame fulfilled the customer’s expectations and operational requirements effectively.
BENEFITS/OUTCOME
Jarlam provided a comprehensive turnkey solution to our client, encompassing design, fabrication, and installation services. Our design team engaged collaboratively with the client to ensure effective and efficient project outcomes, focusing on optimizing productivity and efficiency. Subsequently, our workshop and site installation teams executed the project, translating the concept into reality while ensuring a safe, cost effective and high-quality installation process. We would like to thank our client for providing us with the opportunity to work with them on such an important project for their business.
