PROJECT OVERVIEW
For this project, our responsibilities encompassed the generation of a P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram), creating 3D designs, and fabricating and delivering a complete piggable and jacketed chocolate piping system. The system was designed to replace an inefficient and outdated setup, spanning from tanks to each piece of equipment involved in the chocolate processing, thereby enhancing overall efficiency and functionality.
SOLUTION
As part of this project, our Mechanical Engineers were involved from the outset to assist in developing the full design brief for our client.
With careful consideration to design considerations, our engineers developed a comprehensive P&ID for the entire chocolate processing system, tailored to meet the unique requirements of our customer. Once finalized, this P&ID served as the foundation for creating a detailed 3D model, providing the customer with a real-time visualization of the proposed concept. This interactive approach was invaluable, enabling the customer to pinpoint potential enhancements or operational challenges. By utilizing this process, we ensured that the final solution not only met but also optimized functionality and efficiency according to our customers specifications.
Upon completion of the P&ID the finalized concept was then handed to our specialized site installation teams to commence work on bringing the design to life. To minimize disruption, fabrication commenced outside the production area to ensure that any shutdown period was kept to a minimum. Our fabricators-maintained flexibility throughout the site installation, accommodating additional customer requirements as the project evolved. Upon the commencement of the shutdown window, our team swiftly installed the chocolate system around the existing setup and fabricated additional components as required. The successful first-time system test underscores the quality, dedication and craftmanship demonstrated by our tradesman throughout the entire site installation process.
